Nagi Yanagi

Nagi Yanagi (やなぎなぎ; born May 31, 1987, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese singer-songwriter whose work spans J-pop and singer-songwriter music. She became interested in music in childhood, began composing in junior high school, and started posting original songs online in 2006. She also uploaded singing videos to Niconico under the name Gazelle. After ending those video-posting activities in 2008, Yanagi joined supercell as the guest vocalist nagi from 2009 to 2011. In that period, she sang the 2009 single "君の知らない物語". She established her solo career in the early 2010s. Her songs often pair delicate vocals and introspective lyrics with atmospheric pop arrangements, soft pop, acoustic textures, and electronic details. She made her major solo debut from NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan LLC on February 29, 2012 with "Vidro Moyou (ビードロ模様)", the ending theme for "Ano Natsu de Matteru". Yanagi later became closely associated with anime songs through works such as "Aqua Terrarium (アクアテラリウム)" and "Mitsuba no Musubime (三つ葉の結びめ)" for "Nagi no Asu kara", "Yukitoki (ユキトキ)", "Harumodoki (春擬き)", and "Megumi no Ame (芽ぐみの雨)" for "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru", and "over and over" for "Just Because!".
