Jormungand centers on Koko Hekmatyar, an international arms dealer who travels the world through the shipping company HCLI, moving weapons across battle lines while dodging the law. Her newest bodyguard, Jonathan "Jonah" Mar, is a child soldier who hates weapons and the people who sell them, yet he has no choice but to protect the woman whose business he despises. Around them is Koko’s crew of bodyguards, mostly former special-operations soldiers, each bringing hard-earned combat experience to a job that keeps them one step ahead of local authorities, international agencies, and hired killers.
Beneath the gunfire and black-market deals, Koko pursues an apparently impossible dream: world peace. That idealistic goal clashes with the reality of the arms trade, where armies, private militaries, militias, and intelligence services all compete for power and survival. As CIA agents close in and assassins appear wherever they go, Jonah and the rest of the crew must decide whether Koko’s vision is madness, manipulation, or the only thing keeping them moving forward.
