Daisuke Ono is a Japanese seiyuu and singer from Sakawa, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan, known for a career that connects anime voice acting, radio hosting, and character-song performance. He began working as a voice actor in 2001, was affiliated with Aoni Production through its voice acting school, later worked with Mausu Promotion, and became a freelancer on February 1, 2016. His profile also lists his blood type as O, his height as 175 cm (5'8.9"), and his weight as 65 kg (143 lbs).
Beyond his voice acting work, Ono is especially well known as the host of 神谷浩史・小野大輔のDear Girl ～Stories～ with fellow seiyuu Hiroshi Kamiya, a radio program that started in 2007 and became one of the most recognizable parts of his public profile. He has also hosted Ono Daisuke, Kondou Takayuki no Yume Bouken -Dragon&Tiger- with Takayuki Kondou, and MAG Net with Saori Gotou from April 2010 to March 2013. These long-running radio and talk projects helped establish him as a familiar personality within anime and seiyuu culture, alongside his work in performance and music.
As a singer, Ono performs as ONO-D and leads the air band MASOCHISTIC ONO BAND, which debuted at Nippon Budoukan in 2013. The other members of the band include Kamiya Hiroshi as HIRO-C and other staff members of DGS. He was also part of the singing unit D.A.T with Takayuki Kondou from 2011 to 2020, and D.A.T performed in the annual Marine Super Wave Live. The unit later restarted activity as TRD in 2021 with a YouTube show and released a CD on June 16, 2021. Their radio show Dope Rad Talking aired from April 2021 to September 2023, and TRD ended activity with an album released on June 26, 2024.
Ono is also the leader of DABA, a project created in 2008 that brings together Jun Fukuyama, Satoshi Hino, Shinnosuke Tachibana, Hisayoshi Suganuma, Junji Majima, and Takayuki Kondo, all male voice actors born in 1978. In addition, he is part of DABA's singing subunit, CABA, which has been active since 2014. He has also served as the leader and host of the annual OrePara live since 2008 with Kenichi Suzumura, Showtaro Morikubo, and Takuma Terashima, replacing Mitsuo Iwata from 2014 onward. His work across these projects shows how closely his career has been tied to anime-related stage events, collaborative music units, and seiyuu entertainment.
His achievements include the 2nd Seiyuu Awards in 2008 for Best Supporting Actor, the 4th Seiyuu Awards in 2010 for Best Actor, the 9th Seiyuu Awards in 2015 for Best Actor and Best Personality, and the Tokyo Anime Awards in 2015 for Best Voice Actor. Outside his professional work, Ono has said that he was once not fond of cats because of an unpleasant childhood experience, which is especially ironic given Sebastian Michaelis in Kuroshitsuji, a character obsessed with cats. He later said that he has no problem at all with Nyanko-sensei or Nya-san, the cat belonging to Hiroshi Kamiya, and that he likes watching cat videos and would like to get a cat. He also dislikes raisins, but loves Chinese noodles, nuts, and almonds, and has a strong fascination with Buddha statues, including a visit to one of the tallest Buddha statues in the world during his birthday celebration in Ushiku-shi, which is also Hiroshi Kamiya's hometown.
