Aimer

Aimer (born Emi Fujimoto on 1990-07-09 in Kumamoto) is a Japanese singer-songwriter active since 2011 and recording for Defstar Records. She writes lyrics under the name "aimerrhythm" and developed a J-pop style built around restrained arrangements and a husky voice. Music was part of her family environment from childhood. She learned piano in elementary school, later took up guitar, and at age 15 lost her voice through overuse of her vocal cords. The period of silent therapy that followed became a turning point in the vocal approach that shaped her later recordings. In 2011 she began her full-scale career. She first released the digital cover album "Your favorite things" and then made her major debut with "Rokutousei no Yoru (六等星の夜)," the ending theme for "No.6". Anime work has remained central across her career. Early on, that included "Re:pray" for "Bleach" and "Akane Sasu (茜さす)" for "Natsume Yuujinchou"; later came songs such as "Brave Shine," "ninelie," "Torches," "Deep down," and the "Kimetsu no Yaiba" themes "Zankyou Zanka (残響散歌)," "Asa ga Kuru (朝が来る)," and "Taiyou ga Noboranai Sekai (太陽が昇らない世界)". She announced her marriage to musician Masahiro Tobinai on January 1, 2023, and shares official updates through Twitter @aimer_and_staff and YouTube @aimerSMEJ. In 2025 she shared the opening song music video for Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective, appeared in The Legend of Hei 2's main trailer with a theme song, and released Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle first movie theme song music videos with LiSA; her Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc opening song also reached 500 million streams.
