Aimer

Aimer is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Kumamoto, born Emi Fujimoto, whose husky, sweet voice and restrained J-pop arrangements have made her one of the most recognizable names in anime music. Recording for Defstar Records, she is credited as "aimerrhythm" for her lyrics and has built a style that balances intimacy, fragility, and emotional intensity, making her especially associated with anime openings and other theme songs. Her voice changed after she lost it at age 15 because of overuse of her vocal cords and underwent silent therapy, a turning point that helped shape the delicate tone heard in her recordings. Aimer has continued to connect strongly with anime theme songs: in 2025 she shared the opening song music video for Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective, appeared in The Legend of Hei 2's main trailer with a theme song, and released Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle first movie theme song music videos with LiSA. Her Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc opening song also reached 500 million streams. She announced her marriage to musician Masahiro Tobinai on January 1, 2023, and continues sharing official updates through Twitter @aimer_and_staff and YouTube @aimerSMEJ.
