Aimer’s “Zankyou Zanka (残響散歌)” is the opening theme for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s Entertainment District Arc. It first appeared digitally in December 2021 and was later paired with the arc’s ending theme, “Asa ga Kuru,” on a double A-side single. The production combines sharp brass, piano, jazz-tinged percussion, and a fast rhythmic foundation. That sound captures the glittering nightlife of Yoshiwara without hiding the danger beneath it. Aimer’s deep, textured voice gives weight to a melody built to move with elegance and speed. The title suggests a song whose reverberation remains after the original sound has faded, an apt image for characters shaped by loss who continue to fight. Its mixture of splendor and darkness matches Tengen Uzui, the district’s extravagant surface, and a battle where spectacle and pain are never far apart.
