Katanagatari

Katanagatari unfolds in an Edo-period Japan where swordsmanship is shaped by refined styles, pride, and lethal rivalry. Shichika Yasuri, the seventh head of the Kyotouryuu school, is unlike any other warrior: his own body is his blade. He lives in quiet exile with his sister Nanami until Togame, a sharp-tongued strategist with a dangerously ambitious plan, arrives and pulls him into a search that will change both of their lives. Togame wants Shichika to help her recover the twelve extraordinary swords known as the Deviant Blades, relics coveted by the shogunate and by anyone who sees them as a route to power. Shichika agrees, drawn as much by Togame herself as by the mission, and the pair set out across a world of rival sword users, opportunists, and deadly obstacles. As their search continues, Katanagatari becomes a story of trust built through hardship, of an uneasy partnership tested by each new blade, and of the cost hidden behind every victory. What begins as a hunt for weapons gradually turns into a journey that challenges their loyalty, their resolve, and the legend they are trying to assemble.
