Nomico

Nomico is a Japanese singer and vocalist from Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, born on February 18. Active since 2004, she works mainly in j-pop and became known through doujin music and anime-related songs. After moving to Tokyo in 2006, she performed with a theatre troupe as a stage actress, then joined a doujin music circle as a vocalist at the invitation of her brother Kaya. That year she made her major-label debut on Lantis with the ending theme “しちゃいましょう” for 錬金3級 まじかる?ぽか〜ん, where she also made her first voice-acting appearance, and released her first album 『のみこの実』. Her second album, 『のみこのNomical Hystery Hour!』, followed in 2009. She is closely associated with Alstroemeria Records and the 2007 single “Bad Apple!! feat. nomico,” whose spread through internet culture in 2010 carried her name well beyond the doujin scene. Her anime and game work includes multiple versions of the Akikan! ending “Koisora Recycling,” as well as “Karakuri Nemuri Dan (からくり眠り談)” for Katanagatari and “Hoshikaze no Horoscope (星風のホロスコープ)” for Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi. Her career connects Touhou Project arrangements, independent releases, and anime music while remaining linked to Lantis.
