YOASOBI

YOASOBI is a Japanese music duo formed on September 30, 2019. Signed to Echoes and active since 2019, the group consists of producer Ayase and vocalist Lilas Ikuta (Ikura). Their work is built around the idea of turning written works into songs. The project began with fiction associated with monogatary.com, then expanded to other kinds of source material, including short stories, poems, and other texts. Musically, YOASOBI blends J-pop, yakousei, pop, and other electronic-leaning elements. The duo first drew wide attention with "夜に駆ける (Yoru ni Kakeru) / Racing into the Night". It later expanded its catalog with songs such as "ハルジオン (Harujion)", "あの夢をなぞって (Ano Yume wo Nazotte)", and "群青 (Gunjou)". YOASOBI has also produced songs for anime. For Beastars, the duo performed the opening "Kaibutsu (怪物)" and the ending "Yasashii Suisei (優しい彗星)". It later contributed the opening "Idol (アイドル)" for Oshi no Ko and the opening "Yuusha (勇者)" for Sousou no Frieren. "Idol" surpassed one billion streams. In 2026, YOASOBI also performed the opening "Adrena (アドレナ)" and the ending "BABY" for Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana-Kimi). The duo has also collaborated with other artists and received multiple accolades, including the Japan Record Awards and awards from online music platforms.
