The group has released songs based on short stories posted on 'Monogatary'. The duo became really popular in Japan after releasing the song '夜に駆ける(Yoru ni Kakeru)/Racing into the Night' in 2019, which received more than 180M views on YouTube. Trivia: the meaning of the group name 'YOASOBI' translated to '夜遊び' in Japanese, which means 'going out to play at night'. Both Ayase and Ikura used to have morning jobs, so they decided to work on music together at night, hence, YOASOBI.
