In Witch Watch, an old legend says that witches once married the familiars who had taken human form, and that those unions gave rise to a lineage of ogres. Morihito Otogi is one of them: a boy who looks human, yet carries the overwhelming strength of his bloodline. Nico Wakatsuki is his childhood friend and a young witch who spent years away at the Witches’ Holy Land as part of her training, leaving the two separated until the moment she returns home just before Morihito begins high school.
Nico comes back with a single, awkwardly heartfelt goal: she wants Morihito to become her familiar. Unlike the cat or bat a witch might usually choose, she wants him by her side in every sense, even if he barely notices the feelings beneath her insistence. With Morihito’s parents elsewhere, the two end up sharing the same roof, and Morihito reluctantly agrees to the arrangement. As he helps Nico adjust to life in human society, he also takes on the far more dangerous task of keeping her safe from the disaster fated to reach her. Between magical training, domestic chaos, and the tension of living together, Witch Watch blends supernatural comedy, romance, and danger around a pair whose bond is already much deeper than either of them fully admits.
