Biography
UVERworld (stylized as UVERworld) is a Japanese rock band made up of six members. They formed in 2003 with seven members under the name Sound Goku Road (also spelled Sangoku Road in the indie scene). Their demo CDs back then sold about 3,000 copies. Two members from that lineup, Seika (saxophone) and Ryouhei (second vocal), left the band afterward. In 2005 they signed with Gr8! Records and scored an instant hit with "D-tecnoLife," the second opening theme for Bleach, which debuted at No. 4 on the Oricon charts. They later released their first album Timeless, on which former saxophonist Seika returned to play on track 5. Their highest-charting song at that time was "Colors of the Heart," the third opening for Blood+, which reached No. 3 on Oricon. They released their second album Bugright in 2007, the third album Proglution in 2008, and have released more since. As of 2015, UVERworld has released over 25 singles and eight studio albums.
