Space Battleship Yamato 2199

Space Battleship Yamato is set in 2199, when Earth has been ravaged by the Gamilas Empire's planet bombs. The planet's green hills and blue oceans have been reduced to a poisoned wasteland, forcing humanity to survive in underground cities and to cling to the hope offered by Iscandar, a distant world said to hold the Cosmo Reverse System, a technology capable of restoring Earth to life. To reach that salvation, the Earth Defense Force commits its remaining resources to the Yamato, a rebuilt battleship powered by the infinite-energy Wave Motion Engine. Its crew brings together people of very different experience, from Tactical Officer Susumu Kodai to the veteran Captain Juuzou Okita. Bound by the same desperate mission, they launch a perilous 168,000 light-year voyage to Iscandar, crossing hostile space while the threat of the Gamilas Empire follows close behind. The journey is more than a military operation: it is a race against extinction, with the fate of humanity resting on whether the Yamato can deliver the chance to restore a shattered world.
