L'Arc-en-Ciel

L'Arc-en-Ciel is a Japanese rock band formed in Osaka in February 1991. The group developed from the visual kei scene and later moved beyond that label after its major debut in 1994. Its long-running lineup centers on hyde on vocals, tetsuya on bass, ken on guitar, and yukihiro on drums; Sakura was an earlier drummer before leaving in 1997, and yukihiro joined in January 1998. The band’s name comes from French and means “the rainbow” or “the arc in the sky.” Across its career, L'Arc-en-Ciel has worked across rock, alternative rock, pop rock, and harder-edged guitar-driven arrangements while keeping a strong emphasis on melodic songwriting. Among its notable songs is "Flower". L'Arc-en-Ciel has also maintained a long connection with anime through opening and ending themes. That work includes "the Fourth Avenue Café" for Rurouni Kenshin, "Driver's High" for Great Teacher Onizuka, "READY STEADY GO", "Link", and "GOOD LUCK MY WAY" for Fullmetal Alchemist, "HONEY" for ReLIFE, "SHINE" for Seirei no Moribito, "DAYBREAK'S BELL" for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, and "FOREVER" for Edens Zero. The band has been active since 1991 and has released work through Danger Crue Records.
