Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist follows Edward Elric and his younger brother Alphonse in a world where alchemy is governed by the law of equivalent exchange. After the brothers attempt the forbidden human transmutation of their dead mother, the ritual fails catastrophically: Edward loses two limbs, while Alphonse loses his entire body and has his soul bound to a large suit of armor. Determined to undo the damage, Edward becomes a State Alchemist and uses the military’s resources to search for the Philosopher’s Stone, a legendary object said to amplify an alchemist’s power and make the impossible possible. What starts as a desperate quest to restore what the Elric brothers lost draws them into the politics of Amestris, secret experiments, and a hidden conflict far larger than they ever imagined. Across the franchise, Fullmetal Alchemist balances adventure, moral tension, and tragedy as Edward and Alphonse confront the cost of ambition, the consequences of breaking nature’s laws, and the dangerous truth behind the promise of power.
