Great Teacher Onizuka follows twenty-two-year-old Eikichi Onizuka, a former biker gang leader, conqueror of Shonan, and virgin who is determined to become the greatest high school teacher in Japan—not out of devotion to education, but because he wants a loving teenage wife when he is old and gray. Perverted, greedy, and lazy on the surface, Onizuka still has more heart, toughness, and resolve than anyone expects. When he lands a job as the homeroom teacher of Class 3-4 at the prestigious Holy Forest Academy, even after suplexing the Vice Principal, he finds himself assigned to one of the school’s most infamous classrooms.
Class 3-4 treats every new teacher with contempt and relies on psychological warfare to drive them out, but Onizuka refuses to break. Instead, he confronts the bullying, suicide, and sexual harassment that shape his students’ daily lives, often with reckless and unconventional methods that no ordinary teacher would dare try. Whether he is risking his own body to stop a disaster or jumping off a building to save a suicidal child, he tackles each crisis head-on. Through his eccentric charm, blunt honesty, and fun-loving nature, Onizuka slowly earns Class 3-4’s trust and proves that school can be something to enjoy rather than fear.
