Aoi Eir

Aoi Eir (藍井エイル, born November 30, 1988) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Sapporo, Japan. After posting cover songs online, she appeared under the name Eir on the bonus CD for LisAni! Vol.5 in 2011 with "frozen eyez". Later that year, she made her major debut with "MEMORIA", the first ending theme of Fate/Zero. Active since 2011, she became widely known through anime tie-ins for series including Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, Mobile Suit Gundam UC, and Kill la Kill. Her music blends j-pop melody with rock arrangements, with emotional vocals and dramatic choruses suited to action and fantasy works. During her early promotions, she often concealed the lower half of her face in jacket photography, interviews, and music videos. She ended that presentation with the announcement of her second single "AURORA". Health problems led her to suspend activities in 2016 after concerts at Nippon Budokan. She resumed her career in 2018 with "Ryuusei (流星)" and continued to perform anime themes across the 2010s and 2020s, including songs for Sword Art Online, Arslan Senki, Aldnoah.Zero, Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, Kakkou no Iinazuke, and Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e.
