Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e

Classroom of the Elite unfolds at Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, a seemingly utopian academy where students enjoy an unusual degree of freedom and the school ranks among Japan’s best. Behind that polished reputation lies a ruthless merit system: the student body is divided into four classes, A through D, and only the top classes receive the best treatment. Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is assigned to Class D, the place where the school sends its weakest or most troublesome students. There he meets the unsociable Suzune Horikita, who insists she was placed there by mistake and is determined to climb all the way to Class A, as well as the seemingly amicable class idol Kikyou Kushida, whose goal is to make as many friends as possible. Class membership itself is permanent, but class rankings are not, and lower-ranked students can rise if they outperform those at the top. In Class D, there are no bars on the methods that can be used to get ahead, turning every exam, scheme, and alliance into a fight for status. Within this cutthroat environment, Ayanokouji and his classmates must decide how far they are willing to go to reach the top.
