Sowelu

Sowelu, born Aki Harada (原田 亜希) on November 6, 1982, is a Japanese pop and contemporary R&B singer from Tokyo who debuted in 2002. A quarter Irish, she entered the entertainment industry after an audition at 15. She first worked under her real name, then took vocal lessons and made a pre-debut appearance on the compilation album SMOOTH with "across my heart" on January 9, 2002. Her official debut followed on April 17, 2002, with the single "beautiful dreamer". Recording under the name Sowelu and associated with Rhythm Zone, she blends J-pop melody with smooth R&B phrasing. Later, she took part in "Let's Get Together Now" as a member of Voices of KOREA / JAPAN. In 2003, she released her first album, Geofu, and went on to issue SWEET BRIDGE, 24 -twenty four-, and Naked. She also sang for anime, performing "I Will", the ending theme for Fullmetal Alchemist, and "Mamoru Beki Mono (守るべきもの)", the ending theme for Pokémon.
