YUKI

YUKI, whose real name is 倉持有希, is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Hakodate, Hokkaido, born on February 17, 1972. She has been active since 1991. She is best known as the lead vocalist of JUDY AND MARY. The band was formed in 1992, and YUKI debuted as its vocalist in 1993. During the 1990s, JUDY AND MARY became a major presence in Japanese rock through bright hooks, expressive vocals, and a lively pop-rock style. Her work is associated with J-pop and singer-songwriter music, as well as the melodic rock energy that helped define JUDY AND MARY’s sound. After JUDY AND MARY disbanded in 2001, YUKI began her solo career in 2002 through Epic Records Japan with the single "the end of shite". She has also been a member of NiNa and Mean Machine. Her solo work reached anime audiences through "Dramatic" and "Fugainaiya (ふがいないや)" for "Hachimitsu to Clover", "Sakamichi no Melody (坂道のメロディ)" for "Sakamichi no Apollon", "Flag wo Tatero (フラッグを立てろ)" for "3-gatsu no Lion", and the ending theme "Home Sweet Home" for "Naruto".
