Coldrain

Coldrain (コールドレイン) is a Japanese rock band from Nagoya, formed in 2007 after the breakup of Wheel of Life, led by RxYxO, and AVER, led by Masato. The lineup has remained unchanged since then: Masato on vocals; Y.K.C (Yokochi) on guitar; Sugi (Kazuya) on guitar and backing vocals; RxYxO (Ryo) on bass and backing vocals; and Katsuma on drums. Signed to VAP Inc., the band plays a heavy style that spans j-rock, melodic metalcore, and metalcore, pairing melodic singing and screams with an English-language repertoire and a bilingual identity shaped in part by Masato's Japanese and American background. One month after forming, the band released the live-venue single "1st DEMO" in a limited run of 2,000 copies, which sold out. Its major debut followed when VAP issued the first maxi single, "Fiction", on November 5, 2008. The second maxi single, "8AM", was released on April 5, 2009. Before the CD release, the title track "8 AM" was used as the ending theme for "Hajime no Ippo" in the 2009 television series Hajime no Ippo New Challenger. Later that year, the band released its first album, "Final Destination". The 2010 mini-album "Nothing Lasts Forever" included "We're not alone", the opening theme for "Rainbow". In 2012, the band recorded the mini-album "Through Clarity" in the United States with producer David Bendeth. Later anime work continued with "FEED THE FIRE" for "Ousama Game", "MAYDAY feat. Ryo from CRYSTAL LAKE" for "Enen no Shouboutai", and "Vengeance" for "Ninja Kamui". In late 2013, the band announced a management deal with Raw Power Management ahead of broader overseas activity from 2014.
