Kanojo, Okarishimasu

Kanojo, Okarishimasu begins when 20-year-old college student Kazuya Kinoshita is abruptly dumped by Mami Nanami, the bright and sunny girlfriend he believed had brought steady happiness into his life. Heartbroken and alone, he turns to an online app and hires a rental girlfriend, only to meet Chizuru Mizuhara, a young woman whose unparalleled beauty, cute demeanor, warm smile, and caring personality leave an immediate impression. After hearing about other customers' experiences with Chizuru, Kazuya convinces himself that her sweetness is only an act meant to toy with his heart, rates her poorly, and is stunned when she answers his shameless hypocrisy by dropping the facade and showing a pert, hot-tempered side of her own. Their argument is cut short when Kazuya learns that his grandmother has collapsed. They rush to the hospital and find that she is already in good condition, but the situation turns even more awkward when she asks who Chizuru is. On impulse, Kazuya blurts out that they are lovers, forcing Chizuru to play along. With Kazuya still hung up on Mami, that lie keeps pulling them back together and grows into the core of a messy college romantic comedy built on fake dating, embarrassment, jealousy, and feelings that are harder to dismiss than either of them expects. As the story widens, other girls such as Ruka Sarashina and Sumi Sakurasawa complicate the balance between performance and sincerity around Kazuya and Chizuru.
