Shokugeki no Souma

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma follows Souma Yukihira, a gifted young cook who has spent his life working alongside his father Jouichirou as a sous chef at the family restaurant. Over the years, Souma has sharpened his culinary expertise and built a reputation for inventing bold dishes that surprise customers, and he hopes to one day surpass Jouichirou and take over the shop himself. That dream is shaken when Jouichirou decides to close the restaurant and accept a job in New York, forcing Souma to look beyond the small world he has always known. Instead of following his father, Souma enrolls in the prestigious Tootsuki Culinary Academy, where only 10 percent of students graduate and where rivalries are settled through Shokugeki, intense cooking competitions used to decide debates and arguments. Jouichirou challenges him to survive the next three years at Tootsuki and graduate if he truly wants to surpass him. Surrounded by a brutal curriculum and a fiercely competitive student body, Souma must prove that raw skill, instinct, and creativity can carry him through an environment designed to break weaker chefs. Across the franchise, the series follows Souma's rise through Tootsuki's hierarchy as he faces stronger opponents, new culinary techniques, and high-stakes battles that test his resolve as much as his cooking.
