YURiKA

YURiKA is a Japanese anisong singer from Saitama Prefecture, born on October 29, 1995. She began studying piano at the age of 4 and developed an interest in singing while growing up with songs by Morning Musume and Ayumi Hamasaki. In sixth grade, after hearing the chorus of AKINO from bless4's "創聖のアクエリオン" in a commercial, she decided to become an anisong singer, convinced that an anime song could carry a strong message even through a single phrase. In 2013, during her third year of high school, YURiKA made her first appearance in the 7th Annual Anisong Grand Prix. She continued entering singing competitions afterward. In 2014, she placed sixth nationwide on Nippon TV's "Kasho-Oh". She then won NHK BS Premium's first "Anison Nodojiman G", and in 2016 she won NHK's "Nodojiman" in Sakado, Saitama. That same year, she also passed TOHO animation RECORDS' first Next Generation Artist Audition, which led to an exclusive contract with Toho Entertainment and a CD debut from TOHO animation RECORDS. She made her major debut in 2017 with the single "Shiny Ray", the first opening theme of "Little Witch Academia", and later returned to the series with "MIND CONDUCTOR". Her anime theme work also includes "Kyoumen no Nami (鏡面の波)" and its orchestra version for "Houseki no Kuni", "Futari no Hane (ふたりの羽根)" for "Hanebado!", "ROMA☆KiRA" for "Romantic Killer", and several ending themes for "Beastars". She first appeared at Animelo Summer Live in 2018. She maintains the official website yu-ri-ka.com, and on October 29, 2023, she moved to F.I.X RECORDS.
