YURiKA is a Japanese anisong singer born on October 29, 1995, in Saitama Prefecture. She began studying piano at the age of 4 and later became interested in singing after admiring Morning Musume and Ayumi Hamasaki.
By 6th grade, YURiKA had decided to pursue anisong singing after hearing how an anisong could carry a strong message even through a single phrase. That idea became a turning point in her artistic direction and helped define the focus of her career. In 2013, while she was in her 3rd year of junior high, YURiKA took part in the 7th Annual Anisong Grand Prix. After that appearance, she continued participating in other singing competitions, building experience as a performer and strengthening her presence in the anisong scene.
