Yuki Kajiura

Yuki Kajiura is a renowned Japanese composer and music producer, known for her distinct style that blends orchestral and electronic music. Born in Tokyo, Japan, and raised in West Germany, she developed a love for music early on, influenced by her father's passion for classical and opera. She began her career as a software engineer before transitioning to music in 1992, making her debut with the female trio "See-Saw," which released six singles and two albums. Kajiura gained significant recognition for her work on the soundtrack for the anime "NOIR" in 2001, which sold 50,000 copies. She expanded her portfolio by composing for various media, including notable projects like Blood: The Last Vampire and the Xenosaga video game series. In 2002, she contributed to the .hack franchise, collaborating with Chiaki Ishikawa and Emily Bindiger. Her music for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed achieved commercial success, reaching the 5th position on the Oricon Charts and selling over 200,000 copies. Kajiura is also celebrated for her compositions for CLAMP's Tsubasa Chronicle series, which further solidified her status in the anime music industry. In 2007, she established the vocal group Kalafina with Wakana Ōtaki and Keiko Kubota to perform the theme songs for the anime Kara no Kyōkai. The group gained popularity before disbanding in March 2019.
