See-Saw

See-Saw is a Japanese J-pop duo formed in 1993 by vocalist Chiaki Ishikawa and composer/lyricist Yuki Kajiura. The group is especially known in anime music for "Grain," the opening theme for Noir, and "Kiseki no Umi," the ending theme for The Twelve Kingdoms. See-Saw's songs combine pop songwriting with orchestral, cinematic arrangements, and that style helped the duo stand out in the anison scene. Released through BMG Japan, their catalog includes several albums that show a range extending from melody-driven pop to more layered, dramatic production. The duo also worked on projects connected with director Shinichirō Watanabe, which strengthened its profile among anime listeners. Active since the 1990s, See-Saw remains closely associated with some of the most recognizable anime themes tied to Yuki Kajiura and Chiaki Ishikawa.
