Masumi Itō (伊藤真澄; born May 21 in Ibaraki Prefecture) is a Japanese singer, composer, arranger, and pianist active since 1998. Signed to Lantis, she graduated from Musashino College of Music and has blood type A. She has also worked under the names Hikaru Nanase (七瀬 光) and, until around 1993, 新田 真澄. Since around 1998, she has mainly used Hikaru Nanase for BGM composition and arrangement, while her own name has remained the main credit for her work as a singer. As a vocalist, Itō has performed anime songs such as "Blue Flow" for "Haibane Renmei", "Yokan (予感)" for "RDG: Red Data Girl", "Yume no Naka no Watashi no Yume (ユメのなかノわたしのユメ)" for "Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita", and "Garasu no Hitomi (硝子の瞳)" for "She and Her Cat". Her singing has also been featured in ending themes for "Beyond the Boundary" (Kyōkai no Kanata) and "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid". Under the name Hikaru Nanase, she composed soundtracks for series including "Haibane Renmei", "Canaan", and "Infinite Stratos". She also formed Oranges & Lemons with Yoko Ueno, sang "Sora Mimi Cake" for "Azumanga Daioh", and worked under the ambient-oriented Heart of Air name. Her work also extends to KOKIA. For her, Itō arranged "Fate" and "記憶の光", composed and arranged "ヲモイ", and featured KOKIA on "無限の旋律" from her 2012 album Wonder Wonderful. She is married to Yoshiyuki Itou, a producer at Lantis.
