RDG: Red Data Girl centers on fifteen-year-old Izumiko Suzuhara, a girl raised in a mountain shrine who has grown up sheltered, painfully shy, and unable to touch electronic devices without causing them to break. Hoping to live as an ordinary student, she cuts her bangs and tries to step outside the narrow life that has defined her, only to find that the world around her is tied to forces far stranger than she ever imagined.
At the shrine, her guardian Yukimasa Sagara sends his son Miyuki to live beside her and orders him to become Izumiko's lifelong servant and protector. Although the two knew each other as children, Miyuki bullied her so relentlessly that neither of them can stand the other, and their uneasy bond becomes the center of daily life at the shrine and at school. As Izumiko struggles to understand her own nature, Yukimasa's claim that she is a goddess casts a long shadow over every decision she makes. Mixing school life, shrine traditions, and supernatural mystery, RDG: Red Data Girl follows Izumiko and Miyuki as they confront resentment, duty, and the hidden powers shaping their future.
