She and Her Cat follows the quiet life of Kanojo and her cat Daru, who have grown up together and are almost never apart. Their routine is simple, intimate, and built on years of companionship, with Daru observing the world from a cat's-eye view while Kanojo moves through the everyday concerns of adult life.
When Tomoka, Kanojo's roommate of a year and a half, leaves their shared apartment, Kanojo suddenly has to find a job in order to keep her living space. That change turns the series into a gentle portrait of responsibility, solitude, and the small acts that keep a home together. Day by day, Daru watches Kanojo continue her efforts, waiting patiently for the moment she returns. The story stays close to that bond, showing how comfort, loyalty, and affection can endure even when life becomes uncertain. In the end, it is still just she and her cat.
