BLUE ENCOUNT

BLUE ENCOUNT is a Japanese rock band from Kumamoto, formed in 2004. Playing a mix of j-pop, pop punk, and pop rock, the group has been centered on Yuuma on vocals, Ryuta on guitar, Kaito on bass, and Takahiro on drums. After early releases including the mini albums "the beginning of the beginning" in 2010 and "HALO EFFECT" in 2012, the band made its major debut with the EP "TIMELESS ROOKIE" on Ki/oon Music in 2014. It won Best New Artist at the 2015 Space Shower Music Awards, played its first one-man concert at Nippon Budokan in 2016, and its catalog includes the album DREAMS. In anime, BLUE ENCOUNT performed the opening themes "Survivor" for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and "Polaris" for Boku no Hero Academia. Other tie-ins include "DAY×DAY" and "VS" for Gintama, "FREEDOM" for Banana Fish, "Humming Bird (ハミングバード)" for Ahiru no Sora, and "Mikansei" for Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru. The band later provided the opening song for YAIBA: Samurai Legend, returned with new opening and ending themes for the anime’s second cour, and was also announced for the ending theme song of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Season 2 in 2026.
