BLUE ENCOUNT is a Japanese rock band from Kumamoto, formed in 2004. The group has built its identity around a high-energy blend of pop punk, pop rock, and J-pop, with punchy guitar work, strong melodies, and emotionally direct vocals. Its lineup has been centered on Yuuma on vocals, Ryuta on guitar, Kaito on bass, and Takahiro on drums, and that combination has helped BLUE ENCOUNT stand out in both Japan’s rock scene and anime music circles.
The band is especially known for anime tie-ins that introduced it to a wider audience, including "Survivor," the opening theme for My Hero Academia, and "Polaris," the ending theme for The Seven Deadly Sins. BLUE ENCOUNT also won the Best New Artist award at the 2015 Space Shower Music Awards, and DREAMS is one of the notable albums in its catalog. More recently, the group provided the opening song for YAIBA: Samurai Legend, returned with new opening and ending themes for the anime’s second cour, and was also announced for the ending theme song of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Season 2 in 2026, reinforcing its ongoing presence in anime music.
