Yozakura Quartet unfolds in Sakurashin, a city built within the protective barrier of the Seven Pillars, where humans and youkai live side by side under an uneasy peace. In this world, youkai may look mostly human while still carrying animal-like traits and unusual powers, and some have crossed into the human realm despite the separation between the two worlds.
At the center of that balance is the Hizumi Life Counseling Office, led by Akina Hiizumi, a teenager who inherited the family ability known as “tuning.” With it, he can send dangerous youkai back to their world permanently. He is joined by Hime Yarizakura, the town’s 16-year-old youkai mayor; Ao Nanami, the city’s announcer and resident telepath; and Kotoha Isone, a half-youkai who can summon objects simply by stating their name.
As new residents arrive and strange events begin to spread through Sakurashin, Akina and the rest of the quartet must protect the city from anything that could break the fragile bond between humans and youkai. Blending supernatural action, everyday life, and constant tension between two worlds, Yozakura Quartet follows a group of protectors whose closest friends are just as important as the powers they wield.
