Saji is a Japanese rock band formed in December 2010. Originally active as phatmans after school, the group adopted the name Saji on July 17, 2019, while keeping the same core lineup of Takumi Yoshida, Shinya Yutani, Yoshimitsu Yamazaki, and Atsushi Honma. Signed to Toy’s Factory, the band’s sound blends j-pop and pop rock with a clear J-rock edge, built on melodic hooks, polished arrangements, and emotionally direct songwriting. Across both names, the band has developed a profile in Japanese music for energetic performances and songs that balance accessibility with reflective lyrics and dynamic shifts. Saji has also become familiar to anime listeners through openings and other soundtrack contributions, including its 2025 opening song music video for I’m a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might As Well Try Mastering Magic.
