YUKA, formally Muraishi Yuka (村石有香) and formerly Satou Yuka (佐藤有香), is a Japanese singer best known for her work on anime theme songs. Born on December 10, 1970 in Shiogama, Miyagi Prefecture, she has been credited under several names across her career, including Asakura Miyuu (麻倉未有), and her catalogue is closely associated with anime music.
She is best known for singing "Mirai no Kioku", the opening theme of the anime Kiddy Grade. That song remains the track most closely tied to her name and is a major reason she is remembered by anime fans.
YUKA also contributed "Destiny of the Desert" and "Shinkirou" (Mirage) to Sunabouzu, where they were used as the opening and closing songs respectively. These credits further connect her career to anime and show the range of her theme-song performances.
In June 2000, she married drummer Muraishi Masayuki (村石雅行), and in 2003, gave birth to a son. Under her different stage names, YUKA has maintained a clear identity as a Japanese singer whose most visible work has come through anime openings and endings.
