THE CHARM PARK is the solo project of Charles Park (born April 21, 1987), also known as Charm, a Korean American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer born in Seoul and raised in Los Angeles who works mainly in Japan. His music blends pop, indie, R&B, and acoustic elements, and he writes in both English and Japanese. He handles songwriting, arrangement, production, recording, mixing, and much of the instrumental performance himself, shaping songs marked by melodic writing, warm vocal hooks, clean instrumentation, layered harmonies, and a reflective mood.
After studying guitar at Berklee College of Music, Park co-founded the rock band Hemenway with fellow Berklee musicians and made a major debut in Japan through Ki/oon Music in 2011; the band disbanded in March 2014. He launched THE CHARM PARK in 2015, releasing the independent album "Reverse & Rebirth" in May, the mini album "A LETTER" in November, and "A REPLY" in December 2016. After digital singles and solo tours in 2017 and 2018, he released the album "THE CHARM PARK" in November 2017 and his first major album, "Timeless Imperfections", on December 5, 2018. He joined A.S.A.B in April 2019 and issued the mini album "Standing Tall" that July. Alongside his solo work, he has written or produced music for ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, V6, 登坂広臣 (三代目 J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE), and 南波志帆, created music for 演劇集団キャラメルボックス and film soundtracks, supported 大橋トリオ on tour, and performed anime ending themes including "Hana ga Saku Michi (花が咲く道)" for Black Clover and "ad meliora" for Fruits Basket.
