Superfly

Superfly is the Japanese music project formed in 2004 by vocalist Shiho Ochi and guitarist Kōichi Tabo. After its major-label debut in 2007 under Warner Music Group, Superfly became known in Japan for J-pop, pop rock, and blues-inflected songs built around Ochi’s wide vocal range, powerful rock-leaning pop hooks, and emotionally direct delivery. The project’s catalog balances classic rock energy with polished melodies, moving between uplifting anthems, soulful ballads, and more intimate tracks that keep melody at the center. That mix of strong choruses, blues influences, and clear vocal presence has made Superfly a familiar name for listeners searching for Superfly’s members as well as for fans of anime theme songs and the wider anison scene. Led by Shiho Ochi and associated with Kōichi Tabo, Superfly has released a steady run of singles and albums that show why the name remains closely tied to distinctive vocals, memorable arrangements, and a sound that sits between mainstream J-pop and rock-oriented pop.
