Promare unfolds in a world transformed thirty years ago by a sudden catastrophe that brought forth the Burnish, a new race of flame-wielding mutants who destroyed a large portion of humanity and continue to appear at random, leaving death and destruction in their wake. In the autonomous republic of Promepolis, Kray Foresight has turned that fear into power: his hard line against the Burnish made him a national hero and the symbol of the city's survival.
At the front of that fight is Burning Rescue, a firefighting team backed by cutting-edge technology and the skill of its mechanic, Lucia Fex. Galo Thymos, an energetic young man and the team's newest recruit, deeply admires Foresight for saving his life and believes in the system Promepolis has built to protect its people. That certainty starts to crack when Galo crosses paths with Mad Burnish, a terrorist group that has been wreaking havoc across the country, and with its leader, Lio Fotia.
Their confrontation sends Galo chasing the truth behind the Burnish, the conflict surrounding them, and the foundations of the world he thought he understood. As Promare builds toward that clash, the film balances fiery spectacle with the struggle over who gets to define salvation, rebellion, and survival.
