SID

SID is a Japanese rock band formed in 2003, led by vocalist Mao with Shinji on guitar, Aki on bass, and Yuya on drums. Mao and Aki formed the band in May 2003, and Shinji and Yuya, who had initially participated as support members, formally joined on January 14, 2004. Their work draws on melodic rock, pop-rock, visual kei, j-pop, and alternative rock, and their songs move between dramatic ballads and heavier guitar-driven material. The band announced its major debut in 2008 and released "Monochrome no Kiss (モノクロのキス)" through Ki/oon Records on October 29, 2008, followed by a debut commemorative concert at 日本武道館 on November 2. SID became closely associated with anime through songs such as "Monochrome no Kiss (モノクロのキス)" for "Kuroshitsuji" and "Uso (嘘)" for "Fullmetal Alchemist", later also performing themes for "Bleach" and "Magi". Major live milestones included "SID Summer Festa 2010 〜SAITAMA SUPER LIVE〜" at さいたまスーパーアリーナ, "YEAR END CLIMAX 2010 〜全てのシドへ〜" at 東京ドーム, the "SID 10th Anniversary Projects 2013" and "SID 10th Anniversary Live" at 横浜スタジアム, and "SID 15th Anniversary GRAND FINAL at 横浜アリーナ〜その未来へ〜" in 2019. On January 14, 2022, Mao's live activities with SID and Mao from SID were paused; the album 『海辺』 followed on March 23, 2022. The band resumed live activity in January 2023 and closed its 20th anniversary with "SID 20th Anniversary GRAND FINAL「いちばん好きな場所」" at 東京・日本武道館 on December 27, 2023.
