Ryujin Kiyoshi

Ryujin Kiyoshi (清竜人, born May 27, 1989) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Osaka whose work spans J-pop, pop, and singer-songwriter music. He began writing his own music at 15, and in the summer of 2005 he recorded demos and sent them to music industry staff, marking the start of his career. In 2006 he won the grand prize at the high-school band competition Teens Rock, which also earned him a slot at that summer's Rock in Japan Festival. His first commercial release came in 2008, when "Send" was included on the soundtrack of Cyborg She. In 2009 he made his major-label debut on EMI Music Japan with "Morning Sun," which was used in an AU mobile phone campaign. He followed it with his first album, Philosophy, which later received a runner-up award at the 2010 second CD Shop Awards. In 2010 he released World, led by "Help Me Help Me Help Me" and "Itai yo," and then mounted his first major tour of Japan. In 2011 he wrote "Immoralist" for the voice actress Yui Horie; the song was used as the theme for Dragon Crisis! and reached the Oricon top 10 singles chart. Two months later he released his third album, People. His later discography includes MUSIC, KIYOSHI RYUJIN, WORK, TOWN, REIWA, and FEMALE. In 2014 he also launched the idol group 清竜人25, which disbanded in 2017. After moving to EVIL LINE RECORDS in 2018, he established the private label Ryujin Kiyoshi Labels in 2020. He later wrote and performed "トリック・アート," the ending theme for Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru, and in 2023 contributed "Haruka (遥か)," the opening theme for Dr. Stone. In July 2026 he launched the new group project 清 竜人FRIEND, which began a series of six consecutive digital releases with "It’s My Dance!" as its first single.
