Rude-α

Rude-α (born February 8, 1997) is a Japanese rapper and singer from Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture. Active since 2014, he first became involved in street dance in high school and began rapping in his second year. His music is rooted in hip hop, and his work often moves between rapping and singing, combining a melodic, contemporary urban style with a direct emotional tone. In 2014 he represented Okinawa at the 6th BAZOOKA!!! High School RAP Championship and finished runner-up. He released the first EP 『098 ORCHESTRA』 in June 2015 as an Okinawa-only title that sold 2,000 copies, then moved his base to Tokyo in April 2016. Later that year he collaborated with DALLJUB STEP CLUB drummer GOTO on “19,” a track built around drums and rap, and in 2017 he joined the Japanese dubbed release of SING as a voice actor. His major debut EP 『22』 followed in May 2019, and in July he held the one-man show Rude-α LIVE「22」 at Osaka Shangri-la and Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO. That same month, “LIFE” began airing as the ending theme for Dr. Stone; he later performed “Paradise” as the opening theme for SK∞. In October 2021, he announced his independence.
