milktub

milktub is a Japanese music unit formed in 1991 and led by bamboo and 一番星☆光, childhood friends from Matsudo, Chiba. bamboo handles vocals, lyrics, and composition, while 一番星☆光 is responsible for guitar, composition, and arrangement. Working mainly in J-pop with rock-leaning arrangements, the group built a style defined by punchy guitars, direct hooks, playful lyrics, and a loud, fast, forward-driving approach that draws on alternative rock, punk-influenced arrangements, and anime-friendly anison. Their work has long been associated with anime, visual novel, game music, and wider otaku-oriented music circles. Signed to Lantis, milktub entered game music around 1999 and made its major debut in 2008 with the best album 活動15周年記念ベストアルバムmilktub 15th ANNIVERSARY BEST ALBUM BPM200 ROCK'N'ROLL SHOW, followed later that year by SMILE ENERGY. Their anime work includes the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu endings "Baka Go Home", "Getsuyou wa Kirai", and "Hi-Ho!!", as well as "有頂天人生", the opening theme of "Uchouten Kazoku". Later releases such as MAKE ME HAPPY and 20step voltex continued the unit's activity across anime and game-related music projects.
