Biography

Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets is a Japanese rock band whose roots go back to 2004, when the project began under the shorter name Kishida Kyoudan. The group released its debut album, SUPERNOVA, in 2005, adopted the name Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets in 2008, and was shaped further in 2007 when vocalist ichigo joined to add a bright melodic lead over the band’s instrumental drive. The band is associated with j-rock, pop rock, and rock, and has also been linked to NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan LLC. Built around hard rock energy and memorable hooks, the group moves between original material and Touhou arrangements, giving it a flexible identity that works both as a Japanese rock act and as an arrangement project. For anime fans, Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets is especially known for the opening theme to HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD, a song that introduced many listeners to its sound and highlighted the tight instrumental interplay behind ichigo’s vocals. Across its catalog, the band stands out for sharp riffs, melodic delivery, and a catalog that bridges anime rock with Touhou arrangements.
