Kanae Itou

Kanae Itou is a Japanese voice actress from Nagano, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Best known for her work in anime and related media, she has built a career through character performances, radio appearances, and collaborations with other prominent seiyuu in the anime industry. She is affiliated with Aoni Production and the music publisher Lantis, which places her within the wider seiyuu and anime music ecosystem. After graduating from high school, Itou enrolled at the Amusement Media Academy, a vocational school for voice actors and artists, and graduated in 2007. Before completing her training, she was active in two voice acting groups, Koetchi (こえっち) and Rirachitchi (りらちっち), both of which later disbanded, in December 2005 and on January 28, 2007 respectively. That early experience helped shape her professional path and established her presence in the voice acting field before her formal graduation. Itou is also closely associated with fellow voice actress Aki Toyosaki, with whom she worked on several anime including Shugo Chara!, To Love-Ru, The World God Only Knows, Hanasaku Iroha, and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. The two also co-hosted the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun web radio show, Radio no Railgun, further linking her career to the broader world of anime promotion and fan-facing content. Her work with Toyosaki remains one of the most recognizable parts of her public profile. Her industry recognition includes a nomination for "Best Rookie Voice Actress" at the 4th Seiyuu Awards. On January 1, 2024, Itou announced her marriage. She has also been identified with blood type B, and she has maintained an active public presence through her agency and personal online channels, including Aoni, Ameblo, and her older Jugem blog.
