IKU is a Japanese music artist from Hokkaido, Japan, known for anime-related songs and ending themes. Born on January 22 in Hokkaido, she began learning the electric organ and piano at the age of five, and those early lessons became the foundation of her later work as a recording artist. During high school, she also formed a band, an experience that helped shape her musical direction before she entered the anime music scene.
In 2006, IKU signed with Geneon Entertainment, marking the start of her formal career in the Japanese music industry. Two years later, in 2008, she made her debut with her first single, which was selected as the fourth ending theme for Hayate the Combat Butler!, introducing her music to anime audiences. Her work is associated with the anime and anison field, and she has also been linked with NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan LLC. From her early instrument training and band experience to her debut through an anime ending theme, IKU's career reflects a steady path into anime-related music.
