HOW MERRY MARRY was a Japanese rock band formed in 2004. The group grew out of the school friends 工藤圭一 and 伊藤, with 秋山 joining later. At first they performed under the name "plincipal," then changed the name to HOW MERRY MARRY in 2008 after a drummer left. 河添 joined as drummer in 2009.
The band remained active into the early 2010s. It made its major debut on Epic Records Japan with the mini album "バイ マイ タウン" on March 2, 2011. After 秋山 went on hiatus on April 21, 2011 because of sudden hearing loss, the band continued for a time with support musicians.
HOW MERRY MARRY performed "Northern Lights," the ending theme of "Soul Eater." It also released "Boku ni Dekiru Koto (僕にできること)" on September 7, 2011 as the opening theme of "Natsume Yuujinchou 参." The band maintained the official website http://howmerrymarry.com/.
Its active run ended when it announced its disbandment on May 15, 2012. A one-night revival concert followed at Shimokitazawa 440 on January 12, 2015, where 工藤 declared an indefinite activity suspension.
