Hatsune Miku

Hatsune Miku is a Japanese Vocaloid2 voicebank and virtual singer created by Crypton Future Media. Introduced as the first Japanese Vocaloid2 in the Vocaloid2 Character Vocal Series, she became a defining figure in digital music culture and a familiar name for anime, Vocaloid, and Japanese pop music fans. She is widely regarded as the most popular and well-known Vocaloid, and as the first to become a pop idol. The name Hatsune Miku comes from Hatsu (初, first), Ne (音, sound), and Miku (未来, future), meaning "the first sound from the future." Her voice data was sampled from Saki Fujita, giving the character a distinctive tone that made vocal synthesis performances feel both human and futuristic. Since her debut, Hatsune Miku has remained one of the best-known names in Vocaloid music and a major entry point for listeners discovering the wider Vocaloid scene, while her influence has extended well beyond the software itself into Japanese and international pop culture.
