Project Sekai

Project Sekai begins when Ichika Hoshino hears a song from a Hatsune Miku she has never encountered before while visiting a CD store. On a monitor, she catches sight of a Miku in an unfamiliar form, blurts out her name, and the singer disappears soon after, leaving Ichika with more questions than answers. After a street live performance, the same Miku appears on Ichika's smartphone. She seems sad and downcast, and when Ichika gently asks about her story, Miku explains that there are people she wants to reach with her songs, but no matter how hard she sings, her music does not seem to reach them. What moves her most is Ichika's own performances, which seem to touch the hearts of many people, and that connection convinces her she can learn to do the same. Hoping to find a way forward, Miku turns to Ichika for help. Ichika smiles and accepts, and from that meeting a new story begins for Hatsune Miku and the boys and girls around her. As music, stage lights, and the quiet distance between a singer and the listeners she hopes to reach shape their world, the bond they form carries the promise of something brighter, even for a Miku who cannot sing the way she wants to.
