BONNIE PINK

BONNIE PINK is the stage name of Japanese singer-songwriter Kaori Asada (浅田香織), born in Kyoto on April 16, 1973. Debuting in 1995 and recording for Warner Music Japan, she is known for J-pop and singer-songwriter work that blends pop-rock energy with alternative rock, folk, soul, and electronic textures. Much of BONNIE PINK’s appeal comes from her self-written songs, memorable melodies, and introspective lyrics, delivered in a distinctive voice that can move from intimate ballads to brighter, more expansive arrangements. She also stands out for using both English and Japanese lyrics, a combination that has helped her music travel across different pop audiences while keeping a clear Japanese identity. Over the years, her catalogue has remained defined by careful arrangement, strong hooks, and a polished but personal approach to songwriting. BONNIE PINK has also maintained a visible connection to anime and pop culture. In 2025, she provided the ending song for My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s, and the anime Puniru is a Kawaii Slime later released a cover of her song “A Perfect Sky.” Those releases reinforce her long-running relevance for listeners who discover her through anime music as well as Japanese pop.
