Atarayo (あたらよ)

Atarayo (あたらよ) is a Japanese three-member pop-rock band based in Tokyo, formed in September 2019 by ひとみ, まーしー, and たけお. The group takes its name from 可惜夜, a word for a night so beautiful that one regrets its ending. At the center of the band is vocalist and guitarist ひとみ, who writes and composes much of its material and also helps self-produce its artwork and videos. Atarayo blends indie pop and j-pop with a restrained pop-rock sound, and its songs often focus on loneliness, regret, memory, and the small emotional tensions of everyday life. The band began its activities in November 2020 by uploading its first original song, "10月無口な君を忘れる", to YouTube. The song passed 1 million views in January 2021, then became a breakout release after its digital distribution in March. Atarayo released its first album, "極夜において月は語らず", in 2022, followed by the concept album "季億の箱" in 2023. In anime-related work, the band performed "Boku wa... (僕は...)" for Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu and "Haku (ハク)" for Hell Mode. In 2026, Atarayo also released the insert song "春となり" for the theatrical version of The Dangers in My Heart (僕の心のヤバイやつ).
