Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu, known in English as The Dangers in My Heart, follows Kyoutarou Ichikawa, a withdrawn middle school student who hides a dark inner monologue and bizarre fantasies behind a quiet face. In his mind, he plays the part of a gloomy antihero, and those warped thoughts even drift toward the grotesque idea of seeing Anna Yamada's beautiful face writhing in pain. But when he keeps crossing paths with Anna, the bright and effortlessly popular girl in his class, his certainty begins to crack.
Their awkward meetings in the library and around school slowly reveal that Anna is far more unpredictable than he expected, while Ichikawa starts to see how much of his own fear and self-image distorts the way he reads other people. His twisted thoughts gradually give way to protectiveness, embarrassment, and a first crush that keeps catching him off guard. The Dangers in My Heart blends sharp comedy with tender character drama, tracing how two lonely teenagers stumble toward trust, affection, and a connection neither of them planned for.
