Hell Mode

Hell Mode follows Kenichi Yamada, a gamer who only feels at home when a game is punishing enough to demand patience, repetition, and thousands of hours of commitment. When the online title he has devoted himself to is about to shut down, he is left searching for a challenge that can match that obsession. His search leads him to an untitled game that promises a world with no end, and he chooses Hell Mode without hesitation. Kenichi awakens in another world after reincarnating as Allen, a serf with no status and no safety net. Cut off from walkthroughs, game guides, and the forums he once relied on, he has to learn the rules of this harsh new reality from scratch. As Allen starts uncovering the secrets of his mysterious Summoner class, the story follows his climb from the very bottom of society toward real strength. Every encounter, every setback, and every small victory becomes part of his effort to understand the world he has been thrown into and the power hidden within it.
