Aqua Timez

Aqua Timez is a Japanese rock band formed in 2003. Fronted by Futoshi, the group consists of Futoshi, OKP-STAR, 大介, mayuko, and TASSHI, and its music blends rock with j-pop, pop rock, and hip-hop elements, often built around melodic hooks and introspective lyrics. The band made its indie debut in 2005 with the mini-album 『空いっぱいに奏でる祈り』, and the included song “等身大のラブソング” sold more than 800,000 copies despite being an indie release. Aqua Timez made its major debut in April 2006 with the mini-album 『「七色の落書き」』 on Epic Records Japan, and TASSHI became an official member at the time of “Ketsui no Asa ni.” The band later appeared twice on NHK 紅白歌合戦. Anime music became a significant part of Aqua Timez’s career. Bleach used “Sen no Yoru wo Koete” as an ending theme and later featured “ALONES,” “Velonica,” and “MASK,” while the band also performed “Mayonaka no Orchestra (真夜中のオーケストラ)” for Naruto, “Gravity Zero” for Star Driver, “Eden” for Magi, and “Saigo made II (最後までⅡ)” for Gintama. Aqua Timez disbanded in 2018, ending its activities with Aqua Timez FINAL LIVE「last dance」 at Yokohama Arena on 2018-11-18, and reunited on a limited basis from 2024 to 2025 for the 20th anniversary of its indie debut. In 2025, Bleach Anime released a special music video for “OLDROSE” by Aqua Timez.
