Ai Higuchi

Ai Higuchi (樋口愛, born November 28, 1989) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Kagawa Prefecture who was raised in Nagano City, Nagano. Active since 2007, she began playing piano at the age of two. Later she studied violin, chorus, classical singing, drums, and guitar before moving to Tokyo for university. Her music combines piano-driven pop with ballad, folk, j-pop, and rock elements, and her songs often focus on personal reflection, vulnerability, and the weight of everyday life. After building an audience through self-produced CDs and a busy live schedule, Higuchi released her first album, "三十万人", nationwide in 2014 on the ZOOLOGICAL label. In 2015, she followed it with the self-produced "全員優勝" via Victor Music Arts. She made her major-label debut in November 2016 with "百六十度" on TAKUMI NOTE under Teichiku Entertainment, Inc., and released her first best album, "樋口愛", in 2020. In 2021 she moved to Pony Canyon and released "縁". Through anime, she reached a wider audience with "Akuma no Ko (悪魔の子)", the ending theme of "Shingeki no Kyojin"; she also performed "Ima Kono Mune ni Tagiru no wa (今この胸に滾るのは)", the ending theme of "Snowball Earth".
